About the event

AI and Humans: friends or foes? Why not just collaborate?

Oren Zuckerman, PhD MIT 2007, will talk about recent projects in AI, robotics, and especially Human-Machine Interaction. Oren's lab at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya, called the IDC Media Innovation Lab (miLAB), is conducting cutting edge research on the way humans interact with robots, in search of better ways for people and digital technology to co-exist. IDC miLAB philosophy is: technology should not replace but enhance what people already do. People should not do less thanks to technology, but enjoy more what they do best. miLAB projects include research on: home robotics for older adults, robots that enhance human face-to-face conversation, digital outdoor play for children, scientific thinking through play.

Dr. Zuckerman will also present the opportunities students have to learn at the the IDC Media Innovation Lab:

- BA in Interactive Communication, studying UX design, UX research, Online product management, online marketing.

- GMBA in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, studying the secrets of the startup nation, including internships with Israeli startups & VCs, idea generation, creative thinking, venture creation, data-driven product management, and more.
