American Friends of IDC Announces its West Coast Branch

Meet Michal Yonati Fraiman, Director of West Coast Operations

Michal Yonati Fraiman joined American Friends of IDC in 2014. Currently, she serves as the Director of West Coast Operations, leading the expansion of AFIDC's reach in the region by engaging supporters, alumni, and prospective students, as well as developing IDC's partnerships with local universities and companies. In addition to her responsibilities on the West Coast, Michal collaborates with AFIDC's Executive Director, Leslie Skyba, in developing AFIDC's overall operations, development, and planning strategies.

In 2018, Michal established the U.S. Alumni Association, and with Prof. Uriel Reichman's guidance, nominated the Alumni Leadership Board. This board aims to build and strengthen the alumni community across the United States. In this role, Michal works closely with the board on mission development, strategic planning, and communication to the U.S. alumni community.

Michal's previous varied experience in the non-profit sector includes working with underserved populations, managing a lone soldier program, and working for a leading Think Tank in Israel. Michal is a lifelong learner and is a recent graduate of YESH Institute, a premier leadership program offered by the UJA-Federation of New-York.

Michal is a proud IDC Alumna, graduating from the Sammy Ofer School of Communications with a major in Persuasive Communication and a Minor in Psychology.

Originally from Israel, Michal and her husband now live in Palo Alto with their two daughters, Mia and Yahli. Michal loves cooking, traveling, photography, and spending time with her family- especially when they are not throwing a tantrum.
