Dear Friends, Parents, and Alumni, 

There is so much to be proud of at Reichman University this month.

I am especially proud that Reichman University has been selected to receive the 2026 Minister of Defense Reserve Duty Shield Award, and is the only university in Israel to receive this prestigious recognition.

Since October 7, I have seen firsthand how deeply our university's community has embraced our reservist students, not only helping them return to their studies, but standing beside them academically, financially, and emotionally.

This award is a wonderful recognition of a commitment that is truly at the heart of Reichman University.

It is also incredibly meaningful to celebrate Professor Uriel Reichman, who will receive the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor, Israel's highest civilian honor.

For those of us who know what Uriel envisioned and built more than three decades ago, it is wonderful to see his life's work and extraordinary contribution to Israel recognized in this way.

Finally, I want to personally invite you to join me in Israel on October 5–8 for the Shabtai Shavit World Summit on Counter-Terrorism at Reichman University. 

This is one of my favorite events of the year, and given everything happening in Israel and around the world, I can't imagine a more important time to be there.

I would love to have members of our American Friends community experience it with me.

I hope to see many of you in Herzliya in October!
